Regional network program

The Q-COMP Regional network program has been designed to provide on the ground support for our regional stakeholders by appointing local representatives from across the state.

 

At present we have appointed ten Regional Representatives throughout Queensland, with more locations planned for the near future.

 

With professional backgrounds in workplace rehabilitation and allied health our representatives will ensure our stakeholders receive quality advice and the most relevant assistance possible.

 

Based in regional Queensland, they are in the best position to truly understand the needs of each location, and have been appointed to deliver education, support and resources to their local communities on our behalf.

Cairns region

Kerry Stingel

Kerry Stingel, Occupational Therapist, will help ensure that Cairns locals are able to access information and ask questions of an individual who, not only understands Q-COMP and the workers' compensation scheme, but also has first hand experience in the region.

 

Kerry has worked in the Cairns area for 19 years and is specialised in the rehabilitation of hand and arm injuries. She also owns Cairn Occupational Therapy and is President of the Far North Queensland Allied Health Association.

Ruth Cunnold

Rockhampton has a new Regional Representative, Ruth Cunnold. Ruth is a physiotherapist and has over 23 year experience in the private sector and works with workers' compensation clients.

Ruth is a great communicator and is excited to be supporting stakeholders in her region.

Anna Nicholls

Anna Nicholls, Occupational Therapist, has worked in the industry for over 16 years and brings with her a wealth of experience.

 

For 13 years now Anna has been training Rehabilitation and return to work trainers in the North Queensland region and working with employers on managing complex claims and developing early intervention strategies.

 

Anna is aware of the local issues related to labour shortages in rural areas while still accommodating safely goals. She is determined to support stakeholders in her region through further education forums.

Carolyn Ritchie

Carolyn Ritchie, psychologist, will use her lengthy experience in counselling and return to work services to provide quality advice and assistance to stakeholders in the Mackay region.

 

Carolyn operates her own psychology practice and has a solid understanding about the issues faced within her community.

 

After already hosting her first session in Mackay, Caroline is keen to continue the momentum by offering more workshops and education sessions in the coming months.

Paul Ryan

Paul is a physiotherapist and Hervey Bay local, having lived and worked as a physio in the area for 30 years, with a particular interest in occupational rehabilitation, particularly in terms of return to work practices.

 

Paul is committed to sustainable return to work of injured workers, and this dedication is supported by his belief that in the right circumstances, people with injuries are better supported by rehabilitating in the work environment, than by staying at home.

Jordan Chapman

Jordan Chapman is an experienced physiotherapist specialising in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of workplace injuries

With first hand experience in the region, Jordan will be able to provide relevant information to Mt Isa locals regarding Q-COMP and the workers' compensation scheme in general.

Angela McNamee

As the director of a Toowoomba-based injury management and training company, Angela is dedicated to building strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the Toowoomba, Dalby and Roma region.

 

An occupational therapist by trade, Angela recognises the benefits of early intervention, supportive communication and a swift and safe return to work for injured workers.

Jacinta McCartin

Jacinta McCartin, Occupational Therapist, has worked in the industry for 30 years and provides injured workers with the support, education and medical expertise they need to not only return to work but to feel productive and engaged in their work environment.

 

Jacinta works locally with injured workers, their employers and treating health professionals to help injured workers return to normality and get their work routines back.

Michelle Maclean

Michelle Maclean, Occupational therapist/Ergonomist, has worked in the industry for over 10 years and brings a wealth of occupational rehabilitation knowledge and expertise of the workers' compensation scheme to Q-COMP's Regional network program.

 

With a background in acute rehabilitation, insurance and private practice, Michelle is aware of stakeholder demands within the industry. She is a positive communicator and has a history of achieving successful outcomes on challenging return to work claims. Michelle looks forward to working with metropolitan stakeholders to support their knowledge and understanding of the Queensland workers' compensation system.

Scott Whiting

Scott Whiting, Physiotherapist, has been working in the industry on the Gold Coast as Founder and Manager of City Coast Physio for 18 years.

 

Scott has designed and established numerous workplace injury management programs for a variety of Gold Coast based companies and industries, and has had hands on involvement in all facets of injury management, prevention, training and rehabilitation.

 

Scott will bring extensive knowledge and experience to his role as Q-COMP's regional representative for the Gold Coast, and looks forward to opportunities to engage with locals about rehabilitation and return to work.
