Being represented

You may decide to be represented for your medical assessment tribunal, such as by a legal or union representative.

Your representative can:

  • have a copy of your referral paperwork (we will need an authorisation form from you prior)
  • go to your medical assessment tribunal with you
  • provide your doctors with more information verbally at the medical assessment tribunal
  • be sent the medical assessment tribunal decision.

If you decide to have a representative you should be aware that you will need to cover the costs.

Support persons

You may if you wish, be accompanied at the tribunal by a support person such as your spouse, parent or friend.

Your support person will not be permitted to speak on your behalf.
