Making a referral to Return to work assist
Referrals are made to Return to work assist by:
- a workers' compensation insurer—the insurer identifies an appropriate claim that meets the referral criteria, discusses the initiative with the worker, and if the worker is happy to volunteer, refers the worker to the service.
- an employer—if their worker agrees to take part
- the worker themself.
The Return to work assist process is simple:
If you are an insurer or an employer, you can refer the worker online using the Return to work assist referral form. Alternatively, you can fill in the PDF form and email to rtwassist@qcomp.com or fax to 3020 6312

Q-COMP’s Return to work assist team then takes the worker through the process and assesses the worker’s needs. The worker is assisted to return to work and achieve realistic employment goals.
If you are an injured worker, you can can also refer yourself by using the Return to work assist self-referral form.
