Welcome to the winter edition of MAT Quarterly. In this edition
we discuss upcoming education opportunities for MAT doctors. We
also review Dr North's presentation at the Australian Orthopaedic
Association Scientific Conference, and attend to some Tribunal
housekeeping.
It is an exciting time for Q-COMP, with the nomination period
closing for the Return to work Awards 2011 on 8 July - only 2 days
away. So, if you've got a nomination to make or an entry to
complete, be sure to log on and be recognised for your efforts
directed at getting injured workers back to work.
One amazing Awards nominee is Gary Watson, a former jackeroo who
couldn't return to work after a horse he was breaking fell on him.
Gary was referred to the team at Return to work assist, and his
full story can be read in this edition of the MAT Quarterly.
I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that you are now
able to register for the Return to work Conference coming up in
October in Brisbane. The full Conference Program is now available
online and delegate places are filling up fast.
As always, we'd love to hear your thoughts via the comments
section or an email to comms@qcomp.com.au

hosted a lunch time presentation by Belinda Cassidy, Principal
Claims Assessor of the Motor Accidents Authority NSW on Tuesday 17
May 2011.

The Tribunal Secretariat endeavour to do all we can to ensure
that Tribunals run smoothly and on time - however we appreciate
that over time cases presented to the Tribunal have become more
complex and with that, some tribunal appointments do take
longer.
