Whilst attending the Workers' Compensation National Summit on the Gold Coast recently, senior staff of both the Ministry of Manpower Singapore and The PNG Workers' Compensation Board took the opportunity to request a meeting with the Department of Justice and Attorney General (DJAG), WorkCover Queensland and Q-COMP to gain a more detailed understanding of the workers' compensation scheme in Queensland.
In particular, the overseas delegates were interested in the unique working relationship Q-COMP shares with both WorkCover Queensland and DJAG whilst also gathering information to determine whether the specific strategies applied in Queensland may also be applied in both the PNG and Singapore schemes.
The meeting ran well over time, as our visitors had numerous questions and queries and left armed with resources as well as the information they required to assist in the ongoing review and development of their own schemes
