Insurer Report, Winter 2012
Welcome to the Winter edition of the Insurer Report. In
this edition we update you on the conviction of a worker found to
be defrauding Gold Coast City Council, provide a Review Officer's
perspective on good claims practices and bring you up to speed with
what's been happening here at Q-COMP and the regions.
I'd like to thank everyone who has nominated someone or an
organisation for a Return to work Award. We've had some
extraordinary nominations which will all go through the judging
process in a few months time.

Worker jailed for defrauding Gold Coast City Council
Richard Moore was sentenced to nine months jail (six months
suspended) and ordered to make restitution in the amount of
approximately $68,000 after being convicted of defrauding Gold
Coast City Council.

At the ASIEQ forum on 14 March 2012, Review Unit Team Leader,
Cass Rose explained that Q-COMP would be producing a number of
policies relating to procedural fairness, information release and
