Medical certificate update

We recently released a new version of the workers' compensation medical certificate in April 2009.

This updated version of the certificate includes some minor administrative changes and has not removed any specific medical treatment information. The amendments include:

  • Added tick box - new claim or on-going claim
  • Added "Worker contact number"
  • Added "Worker's employer name"
  • Added "Worker stated date of injury"
  • Insurer phone contact information included as well as Q-COMP website - for ease of enquiries

Both WorkCover Queensland and the Association of Self-Insured Employers of Queensland were consulted about the amendments and the final version was also circulated to the Medical Services Committee representatives for feedback.

You'll notice the new certificates coming through slowly depending on when medical practices need to order new certificates.

The Health Services team has also liaised with medical software vendors to have the certificate amended in their programs.

An amended electronic version of the certificate is also available on our website at qcomp.com.au.
