Welcome to the Summer edition of the Insurer Report. In this edition we provide an update on the latest statistical trends, streamlining the review process, the hot topic of fraud and introduce the first of our training opportunities for insurers in 2012.

 

If you haven't heard about the North Queensland Return to work Conference and Expo, we've got all the information you need (including details about the bonus networking event) covered.

 

Also, if you are a rehabilitation and return to work coordinator (RRTWC) you can find out how attending the conference can extend your registration for three years from the date of the event.

You may have noticed a few changes to the medical fees for GP's and Specialists.

In November 2010 Q-COMP commenced a medical fee review to research current fees for medical services and to establish whether the fees listed in the Q-COMP medical tables of costs were appropriate.

Return to work Conference and Expo comes to Townsville

The North Queensland Return to work Conference builds on the momentum of the sell-out event held annually in Brisbane and will take place at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre on Tuesday 27 March 2012.

An Aged Care Employers Self-Insurance Group worker pleaded guilty in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 17 November 2011 of providing false and misleading information to the insurer in relation to her past history of back injuries and back pain.
