David is a 50 yr old Terminal Operator who sustained serious injuries to his right leg after he was hit by a truck while riding his motorbike to work.
David was referred to Return to work assist in June 2010 (almost three years after his injury). The team provided him with support and information including assistance with his resume and job searching and linked David to a Disability Employment Service.
In September 2011 Return to work assist gave David the details of an employer looking for a Heavy Combination (HC) truck driver. David made contact with the employer and was offered a role which he started on 17 October 2011 - four years to the day after he sustained his work related injuries.
David was extremely grateful for the support given to him by Return to work assist and their ability to connect him with an employer he may not have known about previously.
The employer has since been in touch with David's Return to work assist Advisor and said that David is doing really well and he could use ten more employees who show his passion for his work.
