Review Unit building stronger relationships with self insurers

Self insurers' survey

The Review Unit recently conducted the annual Self Insurer survey. We had a great response this year and would like to thank all those who took the time to complete the survey.

Self Insurers this year gave an overall satisfaction rating of 7.5 (out of 10) to the review services provided by Q-COMP. Self Insurers considered that they were informed promptly when an application for review was lodged and that the reasons were well structured, in plain English and fully explained the review decision. Overall, Q-COMP Review Officers were considered to be professional, accessible, available to take calls and they responded to information in a timely manner.

This year, as in previous years, there were still some concerns with extensions being granted and the length of time granted for extensions. The Review Unit has put a number of procedures in place to assist in managing extensions and making the decision in a timely manner.

Self insurers' forum - 10 February 2011

The Review Unit proposes holding a Self Insurer forum on 10 February 2011 to present the complete survey results as well as provide information on review trends.

Reasons for decision training

Due to a high level of interest in the Review Unit's offer to provide Reasons for Decision training, we also propose to hold this training at Q-COMP on 10 February 2011 after the forum.

Note:

If you are interested in attending either the Self Insurer forum or the Reasons for Decision training, please email Cass Rose, Team Leader at cass.rose@qcomp.com.au. A formal invitation with further details will be sent closer to the date.
