Welcome

Welcome to the tenth issue of Q-COMP Insurer Report, an e-newsletter providing regular updates and information about the Queensland workers' compensation scheme.

Thank you to all who visited us at the 2009 Work Safe and Return to work expo.

If you weren't able to make it on the day, make sure you check out the virtual expo and enjoy the expo experience right from your desktop!

Over a thousand of our stakeholders attended and I really enjoyed the opportunity to workalong side Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, the Association of Self-Insured Employers of Queensland, Australian Industry Group, Electrical Safety Office, Queensland Council of Unions and WorkCover Queensland.

The day was a great success and was followed by an outstanding awards ceremony highlighting the great ideas, innovation, leadership and commitment getting Queensland's injured workers back to a safe workplace.

Congratulations to The University of Queensland for winning the self-insured employer achievement award.

More details on the expo and our awards are in this issue.

In the new year there'll be a number of new options available for rehabilitation and return to work coordinators to maintain their registration read about the upcoming changes in this issue.

Have a safe and enjoyable Christmas and I look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
