Seeking Right to be Heard in a Q-COMP appeal

There have been a number of recent clerical errors where an application to be heard before the IRC has been made out in the name of the self-insurance unit instead of the employer.

Self-insurance licences are issued in the names of the employer and not in the name of the self-insurance unit, so if an application to be heard is made out in the name of the self-insurance unit, you risk the Commission rejecting your application.

When at the IRC, you should not say that you are from the self-insurance unit, rather you should say that you are from the employer.

All applications before the IRC must be in the name of the employer who employed the particular worker.
