Potential changes for nurse practitioners

The Health and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2009 is currently before Parliament. The Bill looks to amend a variety of acts including the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003.

If introduced, changes will include nurse practitioners being able to issue workers' compensation medical certificates.

The Bill reached its second reading on 23 April 2009. We're currently liaising with Queensland Health to prepare for any changes and will let you know when the Bill amendment is passed in Parliament.
