Data update

Submitting injury data

Insurers and system providers were recently reminded of equirements in reporting the 'most serious injury'.

As outlined in the data specifications, we require you submit injury information in two places:

1.      Claim base file - where the most serious injury is recorded
2.      Multiple injury file - where all injuries on the claim are recorded, including the most serious injury.

To avoid the need to resubmit data, we'll run a script to correct historical data and ensure the 'most serious injury' is reported in the Multiple Injury file.

Moving forward, we'll be introducing a new field validation to ensure that the most serious injury submitted in the claim base file is also included in the multiple injury file.

The new validation is effective from the September data, submitted in October.

If you have any questions about the new validation or the historical data fix, please contact our Data Management Team on 07 3020 6366.

Data management bulletin

Our Data Management Team have put together a bulletin to assist with coding injury nature and location, explaining the intent of the data usage and with useful reference links. Check out the latest Data management bulletin.

Insurer reconciliation

All insurer reconciliations have been received. Details of the reconciliation outcome will be provided to you over the coming weeks.

Scheme stability indicators

A number of insurers have expressed interest in understanding how the Queensland scheme is performing and how our scheme stability indicators apply.

View the listing as at the end of July which indicates the movement in most areas is in normal tolerances, except for:

1.      average days taken to determine liability
2.      rejection rate for physical injuries
3.      percentage of the scheme's claims going to Review.

Data Hub

We're in the process of developing a Data Hub.

The Data Hub will soon be available on our website and will allow you to access a central repository of scheme-wide reporting and scheme data related items.

If you have an interest or question about Queensland workers' compensation data we encourage you to check it out.
