Kris Fraser, from the Return to work Award winning team at the University of Queensland recently attended the Seventh International Conference on Prevention of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders, held in the Loire Valley, France.
The University of Queensland (UQ) was honoured to win the 'Self-Insured employer achievement award for rehabilitation and return to work' category at the Return to Work Awards in 2009.
Kris Fraser, the UQ Ergonomics & Rehabilitation Adviser, accepted the award on behalf of UQ.
UQ has a strong commitment to staff development through its Recognition and Development Program, and contributed the award winnings towards Kris Fraser's attendance at the conference in 2010.
All papers presented at the conference were peer reviewed by the International Scientific Committee and the quality of the research presented was excellent. The learnings from the conference are being integrated with the prevention and management of musculoskeletal injuries at UQ. This will contribute to better health and safety outcomes for UQ staff.
