Data Reference Group

Q-COMP will be hosting a Data Reference Group meeting on Wednesday 13th April 2011 from 9:00am to 11:00am and would like to invite each insurer and their system provider to attend this meeting. Please contact datasubmissions@qcomp.com.au if you wish to attend.

 

Data Reconciliation

 

Q-COMP has been working with insurers and system providers to ensure collection of the additional data items as a result of implementing the version 6 Data Specification.  The response has been positive with Heads of Damage apportionment data provided for 90% of damages settlements since 01/07/2010.

 

The Data Warnings for the additional data items will be switched to Field Validations from the March load of data (submitted to Q-COMP in April).

 

This data will become useful for actuarial assessments and identifying the make up of settlement amounts.

 

Return to Work Outcomes

 

Q-COMP recently drafted changes to the return to work status definitions with effect 4.2.29 - Return to Work Status of the insurers' interface data specification.

 

These changes are to simplify the coding of Return to Work and to align the categories with the requirements of section 220 - Insurer's responsibility for worker's rehabilitation of the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 and the referral of claims to Q-COMP's RTW Assist program.

 

These changes will apply to the insurers' interface data specification v6.1.

 

We urge as many insurers as possible to attend the April 2011 data reference group meeting as each insurer's return to work outcomes are considered by the Q-COMP Board at licence renewal time.
