Workplace rehabilitation provider standards

Earlier in the year, representatives from Q-COMP, workers' compensation insurers and provider associations met to discuss workplace rehabilitation provider standards.

Provider association representatives included:

  • ·           physiotherapy (APA)
  • ·           occupational therapy (OT Qld)
  • ·           exercise physiology (AAESS)
  • ·           occupational rehabilitation providers (ARPA).

The group looked at  workers' compensation schemes across the country to develop a set of standards outlining minimum expectations for providers delivering workplace rehabilitation in the Queensland workers' compensation scheme.

The standards were formed to assist insurers and employers identify the types of services they could expect from a workplace rehabilitation provider including return to work management, suitable and durable employment and business and financial responsibilities.
