Online resources for allied health professionals

Fees and tables of costs aren't the only useful things on the Q-COMP website! Here are some of the other useful resources and services that you can access under the Health provider section and other areas of the Q-COMP website:

 

 

  • Outcome measurements
    • A list of common outcome measurement tools useful in providing therapy such as  OREBRO, OSWESTRY, K10

 

 

 

 

  • Research Funding
    • Q-COMP provides funding for research projects focused on furthering the objectives of the workers' compensation scheme in Queensland

 

  • Return to work assist
    • A free Q-COMP initiative that helps injured workers whose workers compensation claim has closed and who are unable to return to their former employer

Thank you for this useful article. I was surprised to see Oswestry rather than modified Oswestry amongst the outcome measures. For some reason I have had the impresion that asking patients about their sex lives doesn't tend to obtain frank responses, and hence the introduction of the Modified Oswestry. Am I wrong? (Maybe one of the physios on your team knows the answer to this one?) Many thanks, Joyaa

Hi Joyaa, Thanks for your comment regarding the outcome measures. Q-COMP has provided links to common outcome measurements as a service to providers based on what is freely available. We do not indicate a preference for any particular outcome measurement or whether any measurement has priority over another. Essentially providers should be gudied by their own profession judgement as to which outcome measurement should be used. Thanks
