Queensland’s top forty-five in workers’ compensation

Forty-five of Queensland's most deserving rehabilitation and return to work coordinators, insurer case managers, employers and injured workers have been recognised as finalists in Q-COMP's Return to work Awards.

The awards, which are being held in October on the evening of Queensland's first Return to work Conference and Expo, recognise the outstanding achievements by industry professionals and businesses who have gone above and beyond in helping injured workers return to work.

The inspiring efforts of workers are recognised too, with their stories of strength, determination and courage in returning to their jobs after a workplace injury.

Close to 500 nominations were received from across the state, describing new initiatives, creative ideas and practices, and humbling personal journeys.

Elizabeth Woods, Chief Executive Officer for Q-COMP, says the finalists are fantastic examples of the outstanding work the awards seek to recognise.

"Our awards showcase the state's best in workplace rehabilitation and return to work practices, giving these deserving individuals and businesses the attention of the industry."

"All finalists have been recognised for taking an approach fitting with the theme of this year's awards: 'Above and Beyond', which celebrates the essential work undertaken to develop and improve a strong return to work culture plus commends the courageous journey an injured worker takes to return to their job."

The winners, who will receive up to $2,000 in prize money, will be announced on the evening of the Return to work Conference and Expo on 26 October 2010.

The Return to work Conference and Expo is open to anyone who has an active interest in the workers' compensation industry.
